Welcome to The Barn & Basket Market: Why We Opened Our Doors

There’s something special about walking into a place that feels like home.

A place where the bread is fresh, the food has a story, and the people behind the counter know your name. A place where families gather, neighbors connect, and local farmers and makers are celebrated. That’s the heart behind The Barn & Basket Market.

This market was born from a simple dream: to create a space where community, faith, family, and local food come together under one roof.

For years, our family has worked the land through Rafter 8 Market Farm, raising pork, poultry, eggs, and produce with care and purpose. Farming taught us the value of hard work, stewardship, slowing down enough to appreciate the blessings God provides through every season and pushing through when things get hard.

Along the way, we realized something important: people are hungry for more than just food.

They’re hungry for connection.

They want to know where their food comes from. They want cleaner ingredients, honest products, and relationships with the people producing them. They want a place that feels genuine in a world that often feels rushed and disconnected. And they want to be able to get all of that in one place.

That’s why we opened The Barn & Basket Market.

Our vision was never just to build a store. We wanted to create a gathering place. A market rooted in faith, family values, and community support. A place where local farmers, bakers, makers, and small businesses could grow together. A place where customers could shop with confidence, knowing their purchases support real families and real dreams.

Inside our market, you’ll find farm-fresh meats, local produce, homemade goods, handcrafted items, fresh coffee, seasonal favorites, and products made with intention. But beyond the shelves and displays, you’ll also find stories, friendships, and a shared love for simple living and good stewardship.

We believe in:

  • Supporting local families and businesses

  • Providing quality food with transparency

  • Building community relationships

  • Serving others with kindness and integrity

  • Honoring God through the work of our hands

Every product we carry has purpose behind it. Every vendor has a story worth knowing. Every customer who walks through our doors becomes part of this growing community.

The Barn & Basket Market is more than a market to us, it’s ministry through hospitality, food, fellowship, and service.

As we continue growing, our prayer is that this place becomes a blessing to our town and beyond. Whether you stop in for fresh eggs, a cup of coffee, a handmade gift, or simply a conversation, we hope you leave feeling welcomed, encouraged, and connected.

Thank you for supporting local. Thank you for believing in small farms and small businesses. And thank you for being part of this journey with us.

We’re so glad you’re here.
