Meet the Family Behind The Barn & Basket Market

Behind every shelf, every fresh baked cookie, every farm product, and every smiling face at The Barn & Basket Market is something much deeper than a business...it’s family.
The Barn & Basket Market was built from a shared dream to create a place where faith, community, hard work, and hospitality come together. What started as conversations around the kitchen table slowly became a vision that turned into reality through prayer, sacrifice, determination, and a whole lot of teamwork.
Like most family-run businesses, there’s no such thing as “just one role” around here. Everyone jumps in wherever needed stocking shelves, feeding animals, helping customers, unloading deliveries, making coffee, cleaning up messes, filming videos, solving problems, and somehow still finding time to laugh together in the middle of it all.
At the center of it all is me, owner of Rafter 8 Market Farm and The Barn & Basket Market. My heart for farming, family, faith, and serving others is woven into every part of the market. From raising pasture-raised food to supporting local vendors and creating a welcoming atmosphere, my vision has always been about building something that serves people well and honors God through the work of my hands.
Tanna, daughter, future shop owner and current Store Manager, keeps things moving, helping bring structure, creativity, and organization into the daily rhythm of the market. Whether it’s helping customers, coordinating products, keeping the store running smoothly, or making sure the little details don’t get missed, she plays a huge part in creating the welcoming environment customers experience when they walk through the doors.
And then there’s “The Famous Tyler”, our spokesman, personality, comic relief, and one of the biggest sweet toothes around the market. Tyler brings energy, humor, and heart into everything he does. Whether he’s appearing in videos, talking with customers, helping around the market, or making people laugh, he reminds us all that joy and authenticity matter just as much as hard work.
But the truth is, this market isn’t built by just one person.
It’s built by family.
It’s built by long days, shared meals, prayers over difficult seasons, and the belief that God can grow something beautiful when people work together with purpose.
Our family believes deeply in:
Faith first
Serving others well
Supporting local families and farms
Living simply and intentionally
Creating a place where people feel welcomed and valued
That heart is what shaped The Barn & Basket Market into more than a store. We wanted this to feel like a gathering place, somewhere people can slow down, connect, and experience the warmth that often feels missing in today’s fast-paced world.
When you support our market, you’re not supporting a corporation or a chain store. You’re supporting a real family with real dreams, real struggles, and a real passion for building something meaningful for the community.
Every purchase helps support local farms.
Every visit encourages small businesses.
Every conversation reminds us why we started.
We are incredibly thankful for everyone who has supported us, prayed for us, shared our posts, visited the market, or simply believed in what we’re building.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you for being part of our story.
We can’t wait to continue growing together.
