Low and slow is the key to tender Texas brisket.

Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 whole brisket

  • ¼ cup coarse salt

  • ¼ cup black pepper

  • 2 tbsp garlic powder

Preparation

Instructions
  1. Trim brisket if needed.

  2. Combine seasonings and coat brisket generously.

  3. Preheat smoker to 225°F.

  4. Smoke fat-side up until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  5. Wrap brisket in butcher paper.

  6. Continue smoking until internal temperature reaches 203°F.

  7. Rest at least 1 hour before slicing.
